Pick the right linker

Cohesive devices only earn marks when they signal the true relationship between two ideas. Band 6 answers sprinkle linkers decoratively; Band 7 uses them accurately and without strain. In each item, decide what the second idea does to the first — contradicts it, follows from it, adds to it or illustrates it — then pick the linker that says so.
