The pie chart shows the main source of news among all adults in 2022.
Overall, digital sources, comprising online news sites and social media, collectively dominated news consumption, while print was the least used source among the five categories shown.
Online news sites were the most popular single source, used by 35% of adults, with television close behind at 30%. Together, these two sources accounted for 65% of news consumption, making them by far the most significant channels. Social media represented 23% of consumption, bringing the combined share of all digital sources, online and social, to 58%.
By contrast, traditional offline sources were considerably less prominent. Radio accounted for just 7% of news consumption, while print represented the smallest proportion at only 5%. Combined, these two legacy media formats made up 12% of the total, less than a quarter of the share held by online news sites alone. The data illustrate a clear preference among adults for online and broadcast channels over print in 2022.
- •Accurate combined figures for digital sources (58%) and offline legacy media (12%) are correctly calculated.
- •Clear overview naming the dominant and smallest sources before the body detail.
- •Effective grouping: digital vs broadcast vs legacy, rather than a sequential list of five values.
- •Formal, varied register with precise proportion language throughout.
- •The final sentence edges toward interpretation; framing it as 'the figures suggest' would keep the register strictly descriptive.
