The bar chart shows the number of fixed broadband subscriptions per 100 people in six countries in 2020.
Overall, France and South Korea had the highest subscription rates and were broadly comparable, while India had a dramatically lower rate than all other countries shown. The remaining nations occupied a middle range.
France recorded the highest figure at 44 subscriptions per 100 people, with South Korea close behind at 43.6. The USA followed at 37, and China was just below at 35, meaning that these four countries all fell within a range of nine subscriptions per 100 people. Brazil's rate was considerably lower at 16, roughly half that of the USA.
India's figure, however, stood apart at just 1.7 subscriptions per 100 people, a rate more than 25 times lower than France's and nearly 10 times lower than Brazil's. This vast gap between India and the rest of the group is the most striking feature of the chart. Among the leading nations, the difference between France and South Korea was negligible, at less than half a subscription per 100 people, suggesting near-identical levels of fixed broadband penetration in these two economies.
- •Overview immediately flags the outlier (India) and the close leaders before any figures appear.
- •Uses ratio language effectively: 'more than 25 times lower', 'nearly 10 times lower', 'roughly half'.
- •Accurate figures for all six countries with well-chosen groupings to aid readability.
- •Clean identification of the negligible France-South Korea gap as a noteworthy sub-pattern.
- •Could briefly note that China and the USA form a distinct sub-group between the European-Korean leaders and Brazil.
